Why don't you show him some respect instead of spewing your liberal slogans and chants. america is in iraq so the terrorists don't cut off your head and blow up your children. Even if you disagree with him you should still respect him as our elected president.

I cannot speak for others, but my own point of view is that respect must be earned, not given. Perhaps it is because Bush has done absolutely nothing to earn my respect is the reason I have no respect at all for the man. He is a proven liar, criminal and corporate toady who failed at every single business enterprise he entered into before becoming president and has become the head of probably the worst administration this country has ever seen. Why should I respect that?

Hi, sfdefender. Please read my 1/31/2007 response and see, read and evaluate the supporting material information I presented in the "End the War" thread.

This is interesting. Just learned some things about our past Commander in Chief, Ike.

Seems that when he came into office, he CUT the budget for the military, constantly. His reasoning was, that a "strong and expanding economy, readily convertible to the tasks of war." was preferable to the Truman style massive buildup.

"I refused to turn the United States into an armed camp." Ike, Mandate for Change: 1953-56

"An attempt to be completely secure could only lead to a garrison state, and even then could not succeed." Kaplan, The Wizards of Armageddon

Funny, isnt it. Here we have the administration, run by people who came out of the Scoop Jackson crowd, who were opponants to Ike's way of thinking, today, doing the complete opposite. Destroying the economy, and at the same time building up the military, or at least the mercenary side of the military.

And what did you say when Carter was in office...?

How about Clinton...?

Avoid foot-in-mouth disease please.

Back in the military, you respected the position, but you dont have to respect the person. Bush HAD my respect when he was in his first term, until he decided to go into IRAQ. Since then, allthumbs-down . I just hope he doesnt do anything else stupid from now till the time he leaves.

I suspect there will be many parties around the globe when he leaves office.

I also wonder how many pardons will be signed just before he leaves office? Should we take a poll?

As far as us fighting them over there vs over here, Why not protect our own borders, (which Bush isnt doing) get rid of all the illegals in the country, and not let anyone else in the country. That would be a good start!

You're on the right track with this post!
Especially this:

So do I; and the rest of the world!

Why don't you show him some respect

To those who would ask us to respect this President, I first ask that you:

1. respect the citizens of this country for whom he works for and has violated their trust
2. respect the U.S. constitution which his job was founded on and he has violated in principle & execution
3. respect the soldiers who would lay their lives on the line based on his decisions and encourage everyone to civilly disrespect his position if that is what it takes to pressure him to enact the will of the people and bring them home.

and finally,

4. HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR YOURSELF rather than continue to honor a public criminal and traitor to this country!

Terrorism is war when those terrorists flew those planes into the twin towers they wanted a war so we are giving them a war. When you mess with the bull you are going to get the horns. Where in the constitution does it say we cant go to war.
So V why dont you take your communist agenda some where else. Anybody who protests against there own country is a traitor. Bush is makeing sure we are free from terrorism I know this is complicated for you Liberals but we are safer know because of the war.

NeoCon Newbe, U.S. government officials were responsible for the flying of those planes into those buildings. They were not airliners. They were drones. So, your argument does not withstand the voluminous evidence, including especially the video evidence, about the events of 9/11. You know, that evidence you refuse to see with your own eyes and evaluate.

Jen, take it slow. Newbie saying:

when those terrorists flew those planes into the twin towers they wanted a war so we are giving them a war

shows that he is clearly not ready to consider who did 9-11. He hasn't even graduated 9-11 101 yet, where the media and "W" himself admit who didn't do 9-11 -- the Iraqi's. Try putting it to him in a way he can understand by holding up a picture of the Twin Towers, Osama Bin Laden, and Sadham Hussein and having a hand puppet sing,

which one of these things is not like the other,
which one of these things doesn't belong,
can you tell me which thing is not like the other...

Newbie,
A question, if I may.

From reading your last post, I take it you believe that al-Quaeda terrorists, hijacked airliners and flew them into the World Trade Center, correct? I take it you also believe there is/was a link between the Iraq of Saddam Hussein and said terrorists, am I still with you here?

Now I am assuming you believe this because of the 61 statements made by administration officials concerning Iraq's links to al-Quaeda (http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/IraqOnRecord.html) in the lead up to this war and this nugget from the fondly remembered "Mission Accomplished" speech, "The liberation of Iraq is a crucial advance in the campaign against terror. We've removed an ally of al Qaeda, and cut off a source of terrorist funding", are we still on the same page here?

Okay, assuming that things are going swimmingly and we still are following the same line of thought here, could you please explain the following statement (http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/01/20030131-23.html) made some four months before the "Mission Accomplished" speech at a press conference at Cross Hall?

Q One question for you both. Do you believe that there is a link between Saddam Hussein, a direct link, and the men who attacked on September the 11th?

THE PRESIDENT: I can't make that claim.

As a godless communist, I could probably use the enlightenment.

Jennifer, this is bothering me. Drones flying into the Twin Towers?

Would you please source this for me?

Hi, MAJI. The free video link below for the video, "In Plane Sight," shows and analyzes drones, 1 flying into the Pentagon, 1 flying into a trade tower and compares that video evidence with both civilian and military aircraft of those same types:

Yikes!

Thanks Jennifer! I saw some of the ....(or a).... video before, on the Pentagon, what shall I call it?............Explosion...........! This might have been it. I confess not watching all the videos presented on POL to the end, always with a plan to finish later.

At first I thought, rather, assumed you meant, The Pentagon! I made a cup of tea and saw it through............... and I am even sicker than before, which was quite enough, already!

I jotted down the time of the first plane flying into the first tower. It was about minute 37:10 of the 52:36 minute video, if anyone cares to review it. The 2nd plane hit about 44:45, and bush's little tale to a student of how he saw the first plane hit before he sat down in the classroom to read "My Pet Goat" Story to the little children, is Hair Raising! That little gem is in the last seconds of the video!

It's something everyone in the WORLD should hear! And the video to see!

Thank You again, Jen, for presenting the video.

YIKES is appropriate, but there is more, MAJI. See the free video, "Video 2," that is at the bottom of the link below. Then read the commentary that is above that video written by a commercial pilot on the website he co-founded, "Pilots For Truth:"

http://911oddities.blogspot.com/

The Power Hour, for which the video above was produced, has a website with more 9/11 information on it. It's the one below:

Just a few thoughts about the paradox of the loonie-in-chief.

L.A.Times:

The San Francisco Democrat shrugged off Bush's criticism, pointing out that the White House was silent over the weekend when three Republican congressmen - Reps. Frank Wolf of Virginia, Joe Pitts of Pennsylvania and Robert Aderholt of Alabama - were in Syria and met with Assad.

"I think that it was an excellent idea for them to go," Pelosi said.

"And I think it's an excellent idea for us to go as well," she said.

Bush, speaking at a news conference in the White House Rose Garden, said Syria is on the State Department's list of nations that sanction state-sponsored terrorism.

And he stood by his policy - which some veteran U.S. diplomats have questioned - of limited contact with the country or its leaders.

One, the Baker/Hamilton report suggests that you HAVE to bring Syria into the dialogue, which I guess, makes everyone on the committee a traitor like the neo-cons are screeeeeming.

Two, score one for Nancy for bringing up the fact that Republicans have also gone to Syria too.

Three, isn't the administrations support for terrorists like the MEK put us in the same league as the Syrians?
