:jumpjoy: Okay this is a little bit of fun. What the hell. :toast:
I find astrology quite interesting. Even on the basic sun sign level it can be amazingly right on the money.
I have tons of examples on this, but here's one:
I was in a store at the checkout line and the cashier was a girl who looked vaguely familiar. I thought, "Hmmmm ... who does she remind me of?" She had a roundish face, big sort of watery eyes and seemed very sensitive to the customers. I know! She reminds me of my college roommate and good friend, who is a Cancer. So, when it was my turn and she was checking me out I asked her what sign she was. She said, "Cancer." Bingo! Lucky guess? Maybe. Maybe not. It happens all the time to me.
SO ... I was wondering POL people ... what are your signs?
OR ... better yet ... let's try to guess each other's sign. (I already know haus and -V- signs and I think they know mine.)
Who wants to start guessing someone's sign here at POL?

FDR!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: :jumpjoy: You weren't suppose to blurt it out! We were suppose to GUESS!!!!
I was definitely going to say you were an Earth sign ... either Taurus or Capricorn because of your interest in the past, an analytical, practical mind and your down to earth humor and approach to issues.
Now I can't show my expertise! WAHHHHHHH!!! :crybaby2:
Okay try to guess mine and other POL people. It helps if you break it down into Earth-Fire-Air-Water.
yeah, I was going to say "earth" myself :bs:
She had a roundish face, big sort of watery eyes and seemed very sensitive to the customers.
"sensitive to the customers?" What, did she ask whether they wanted "paper or plastic?" It sounds like you made several associations based on her physical characteristics which have no relation to her astronomical sign.
hmmm, this does not reflect well on your "expertise" Ms. Arc. this does not reflect well at all...
sounds more like witchery than astronomy

I work with numerolgy, and I swear by it.
Quite a long time past now when I did go to astrologers and had several of them do my chart and read it, I didn't find astrology good at predicting my future events. From my observations when someone has told me their sign and I looked it up or already had some cursory knowledge about their sign, astrology did seem to me to have general validity in describing people types. I'd not be good at guessing people's sign's, though, since I'm really not very familiar with astrology.
Don't disparage witchery, -V-. There is a whole lot to the real thing, and it works! See www.mysticalblend.com .

There is a whole lot to the interplay and connections between quantum physics, consciousness, intersecting planetary elctromagnetic fields, the planetary mass conscious mind and manifestations of physical reality. To that extent, astrology is super important.
Right now I'm having fun eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's Banana Split ice cream and looking forward to tonight's lottery draw for $65 million dollars that is in play. I'm buying Hi'ilani, "In the Arms of Heaven" !

Okay though I know next to nothing about astrology or new-age stuff, I'll take a shot.
First my guess would be that FDR Follower is a Taurus. Don't know why he just reminds me of a Ford automobile for some reason. :p
Seriously, Ms. D'Arc has the passion of a Fire sign but also seems to have the empathy of a Water sign. I also see her as having a Cardinal node (almost sounds like I know what I'm talking about doesn't it :D I am sooooooo full of **it it is a wonder my eyes aren't brown) so my guess would be Cancer or Aires, let's go with Cancer.
Jennifer, I would say definetly an Air sign, Cardinal node as well (????) - Libra?
-V-, a Leo?
Haus - Taurus? Aquarius? I say uuummmmmm Aquarius.
If I got a single one correct I will be greatly amused.
As for myself, my real name, which means powerful ruler or brave one (which would be extremely laughable if you really knew me) and my screen name on this site are dead giveaways.

Jane, I am a Virgo. The month and day I was born is the same as the month and day of the State of California's admisssion to the union, California Admissions Day that is a holiday here.
You are sexy, exuberant, artful, humorous, a caring humanist, sensitive, feisty in a fun way, intellectual, analytical, values oriented with high expectations. You like to boogey, and you enjoy partying, music and dance. You enjoy shopping for things of quality and beauty. Intimate personal relationships have been challenging for you including the one with yourself, and you are doing inner work there. You know you are spiritual and are becomming more spiritually attuned. You value liberal arts education and people, and you would make a fine addition to a state board of education as an elected state board of education official.
I haven't a clue what your sign is, though, Jane ... Ha, ha , ha, ha!

And that's an astrological fact. :) Libras like MAGI coming in a very close second. Libras are naturally really nice people.

-V-, my dear astrologically challenged friend, Aquarius is the water-bearer. That's the personnae. Has nothing to do with water signs.
The 12 signs are divided into 4 groups.
Fire (masculine) People of passion, intensity, courage, inspiration - these people are leaders.
Aires (child)
Leo (young adult)
Sagittarian (adult)
Earth (feminine) People of sensibility, pragmatism, durabilty, sensuality & arts - these people are the builders.
Taurus (child)
Virgo (young adult)
Capricorn (adult)
Air (masculine) People of intellect, vision, freedom, ideas - these people are the architects.
Gemini (child)
Libra (young adult)
Aquarian (adult)
Water (feminine) People of emotion, sensitivity, spirituality, dreams - these people are the shaman & priests.
Cancer (child)
Scorpio (young adult)
Pisces (adult)

Hi, Jane. Passion is a quality listed only among the fire signs, so, that being the case, you would be an Aries, Leo or Sagittarian ... I had never seen that child, young adult, adult astrological concept before ... That is interesting ... 1) Sagittarius? 2) Maybe Leo?
I met an older Capricorn (adult) man who became a strong companion to me, Virgo (young adult). He died of cancer a few years ago at age 76. We enjoyed and helped each other. I taught him alot and helped him through one particularly rough time. He was there for me too. Truly, he was a dear soul with great heart.
Does the order, Fire, Earth, Air, Water represent the soul's spiritual evolution? Is it the idea that souls go through that progression to achieve perfection?

Hi Jennifer,
Yes, it is a progression for the souls, so I understand. My belief is that you reincarnate through the cycles until you finally learn to be in spirit and live in the moment of the One Energy without fear and in total presence. Kind of like Democrats_suck. Ha! :D
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Capricorn companion. That must of been very hard for you. I hope your heart has healed in the 2 years. Capricorn & Virgo is a perfect combo. Doesn't get any more compatible than that.
You're also a good match with Taurus (like FDR ;) ) and water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. It's good sailing between earth and water. And in the 6 masculine signs Air and Fire interact well. But, I'm sure you know this.
Yes, each group starts with the babies of each group ... Aires-Taurus-Gemini-Cancer. They tend to be more energetic, enthusiatic, often child-like and on some level believe the world is or should be wide open for them with endless possibilities to fill their needs. The teenager and young adulthood group are Leo-Virgo-Libra-Scorpio. This group experiments with just about everything and are finding their way to maturation. The old farts of the zodiac are the adults to old age - Sagittarius-Capricorn-Aquarius-Pisces. They've been there, done that and are focusing on a few specific challenges they need to accomplish to reincarnate.

Oh, thank you, Jane. That explanation seems reasonable to me. I'll check that out in my wanderings.
MichaelDem ... Aquarian?
but they don't know what my ruling planet is ...
Virgo is traditionally thought to be ruled by the planet Mercury. However, during the late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century it was speculated in certain astrological circles that the planet Vulcan, thought to be located near Mercury, was the true planetary ruler of Virgo. Today, some astrologers believe that the dwarf planets Sedna and Eris are or will be the planetary rulers/co-rulers of Virgo. Many astrologers who study the powerful asteroid Chiron, known as "the wounded healer", believe it has the best claim upon the rulership of Virgo. Currently, the vast majority of astrologers still think of Mercury as the planetary ruler of this sign.
According to one interpretation, the Virgo constellation depicts Astraea, the virgin daughter of the god Zeus and the goddess Themis. Astraea was known as the goddess of justice, and was identified as this constellation due to the presence of the scales of justice (Libra) nearby, and supposedly ruled the world with her wise ways until mankind became so callous she returned to the skies, disgusted.
In mythology Virgo is often associated with the mythological figure of Omphale, Queen of Lydia, from the myth of Heracles. Virgo is also associated with the Greco-Roman god Hermes/Mercury and sometimes the goddesses Athena/Minerva, Demeter/Ceres, Astraea, Eris/Discordia, Ate and Hestia/Vesta and the gods Hephaestus/Vulcan, Loki, Asklepios/Aesculapius and Veles.

Jane, I cried for awhile around the time my Capricorn friend died. That did pass, and sometimes I've felt his presence and heard him in my mind continuing to be the guide to me he was while we were here together in physical life. So, he's not gone, and I'm not without him, a very good thing for which I am greatful.
I truly know there is life after death. I now see life as a succession of births rather than death and rebirth. It is, however, as trying for at least some soul groups to lose a soul group member to physical incarnation as it is for physical groups to lose a member to what we call death on this more solidified dimensional plane of existance. The truth is, both places are our home until such time as one's soul stops incarnating.
Question, Jane, in my case as a Virgo, would my next step ordinarily be Capricorn, not withstanding great leaps in soul growth that is always possible?

Michael Dem is the Air Sign http://www.aaanimations.com/aquarius/10aquarius1dpsm.gif Aquarius!
PS - Air signs are ruled by Mercury and are thinkers/ mental/ architects and Aquarius is the oldest and wisest of all the Air Signs. They are masculine charged. They are not emotionally based water signs. The guy's carrying a jug of water because of the constellation shape.
How come me and Mikey have to lug those damn jugs around for eternity? If we're so old and wise why can't we get the Cancer's, Scorpio's, and Pisces to carry around their own emotional baggage? Ascertain that starlady!

Here's the deal with Aquarians. They are the most eccentric, kinkiest :whipit: , nerdiest, space-agey  , far-seeing and far-reaching sign there is. That's the reason so many of my best friends are Aquarians. Because of their quirkiest and proclivity to do strange :jerk: things that get them in trouble they have to carry around that big jug of water to put out all the fires they start. See?
yup, yup, that's me, including the smiley icons...

02/12/07, 10:40 pm
Oh, Jane, now in my older age, because of what you said about Aquarius being masculine, I have to change my view of the Aquarian Age. I was thinking because Aquarius is the water bearer that Aquarius is a feminine age. So, what does it mean for our planet, Earth, that Aquarius is a masculine age and the age we're leaving, Pisces, was a feminine age?
The feminine age of Pisces surely did have it's share hell; the crucifixion of Christ, the wars of the Roman Empire, revolutionary and civil wars, the 1ST World War, the 2ND World War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the two wars in the middle east on going not to mention all the other current wars by and in other nations all over our world ...
Jane of Arc
02/13/07, 09:04 am
Good question, Eternally Young, Vibrant, Always-Ready-To-Tackle-The-World, Jennifer,
We are really on the brink. The Age of Pisces was filled with emotion, religiosity, superstition, addiction. Pisces have a hard time. They either throw the pain off and awaken or they succumb and begin the next karmic cycle.
Either way, we are going into the Age of Aquarius. It could be a bumpy beginning, if Pisces goes out kicking and screaming. Or if something globally happens where the Age of Pisces attains a higher understanding, it could be smooth sailing. But it looks like the pain level on this living organism called Earth is just too intense and the kicking and screaming has begun. It could get much worse.
If the human race survives ... much of it may not ... the Age of Aquarius will be a relief (especially for liberal & progressive people). It will be an age where technology, space travel and higher learning vastly expands. Religions will be replaced with spiritually. Victimhood will end and people will naturally realize that democracy is the only real option. It will be a process, but it will come to pass. The victim mentality of Pisces will end.
There is a natural lonliness to Aquarians. To really know an Aquarian you must know that at the core of their being they feel extremely detached, different than everyone else. They are in a perpetual search for something to end the lonliness and find union. This Aquarian trait will push us out into space. The world is going to radically change in the next 2,000 plus years. The idea of a car running on fossil fuels will be a primitive Stone Age concept. In the Aquarian search for origin or a larger type of love, we will more than likely meet many new 'friends' in the galaxy.
The fact that Aquarius is masculine Air is fine. Aquarius is androgenous. Under Aquarius all people will be equal.
Now I can hear all the "astrology-is-crap-give-me-proof-when I die, I die- 'realists' " from here. I could be full of sh*t. Or not. I could be plugging into the grand cosmic computer or talking out my butt. Well, one thing for sure is I have BIG MOUTH!!! I was the first one to 1,000 posts. Okay Puddin' ... let me see ... hmmmmm. I've actually pondered this and thought you'd have to be an air sign or have strong air (wind) in your chart. :D Air signs are ruled by thinking. Fire signs by intuition / inspiration. Water signs by feelings. Earth signs by the 5 senses. If you're a student of psychology, who'd have to be familiar with Carl Jung's (a Leo) Personality Theories and Archtypes. After 10 years of research developing his theories he had to come to terms with the fact that through his scientific research he come up with, of all things, astrology. It sent him on a path into the occult and away from Freudy-boy, who didn't like his dalliance in the "occult". Booga-booga.
http://webspace.ship.edu/cgboer/jung.html
I digress.
I would guess that the Puddin'-Monster is a combo of mind and intuition, which is air and fire.
I'll start by guessing AQUARIUS. (You definitely have air in your chart. But, it may not be your 'sun sign'.)
Wafflepudding
05/15/07, 12:40 pm
Is that your final answer?
Close, but not quite there.
Freud's feud (it's funny, say it) with Jung goes far beyond intellectual differences, although Freud was unable to deal with criticism or dissent of any kind, which is how we ended up with differing psychological schools of thought from Vienna.
I'm not at all surprised that Jung ended up in convergence with astrology in his archetype theory. It's got nothing magical, archetypes are simply common concepts, and why redo what has already been done in the past? just for the sake of pleasing Freud? pfft.
Jane of Arc
05/15/07, 02:06 pm
There's really nothing magical about astrology. All it is is accumulated statistics. Before clocks were invented, people paid close attention to the skies to keep track of seasons, planting cycles, etc. The sun was their time piece. In keeping track of the movement of the planets, the moon and the sun, patterns were found in human behavior and events. (God knows, I do strange things every full moon. You wouldn't believe how much shaving cream I go though. Figure that one out ... anyway ...) Detailed records were maintained. Astrology was born.
There I did it again ... I digressed! :p
To the topic at hand! What is Puddin'-Ears sun sign? I have 11 more guesses!
Let's go with: LIBRA.

Isn't it WAY COOL I guessed your sign in 2 guesses. And initially KNEW you were an AIR SIGN based on your writings here?
Is it coincidence? Or does astrology have some veracity of some sort?
In Jung's long career he always asked his patients their sign to get a toe-hold on their personalities.
And astrology is based on statistics that are based on the movements of the solar system that is based on magnetic pull, gravity and energy fields??? What does it all mean? I need a drink. :toast:

By the way, I never said astrology, as a system of psychological profiling, wasn't practical. I simply don't believe it works as a way to predict the future.
