I'd use the phrase Madrasa, except they say Jesus a lot and there isn't a turban in sight.

mass brain washing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RNfL6IVWCE)

Don't say I didn't warn you.

So, they made a movie about my childhood, eh?

I clicked through a few of the "related videos," and these were pretty good:

With better music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRqPPC2fCe8&mode=related&search=) (seems like Spike Jones?)
Bill Maher goes off (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGceAojHR6o&mode=related&search=) and Brad Whitford gets in zinger or two

Yep, that's classic Spike Jones, put to an appropriate video.

So, what did your parents force you to endure??

I'm not ignoring your question FDR, just not quite sure how to go about answering it... In the meantime: this video is freakin' choice. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My8KxRj_Pwo&eurl=) I tripped over it in a thread at dKos about religion in the military. (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/4/21/8570/67093)

these videos are indeed precious, but someone clarify for me, are we laughing with the videographer of "Jesus Camp" and the writer of "God Hates The World" or are we laughing at them? Are they satire or insanity?

Wow, and I thought sunday school was bad. I got as far as first communion, and since nobody has been able to budge me into a catholic (or any other kind) of church. The only way I'm stepping into a catholic church again is if I marry a catholic.

I'm voting satire, fundie bashing never gets old.

"Jesus Camp" - "The Chicago Tribune reviewer Jessica Reaves gives the film three stars (out of four) and writes that Jesus Camp is "…an enlightening and frank look at what the force known as Evangelical America believes, preaches and teaches their children…" and concludes that what the filmmakers "…have accomplished here is remarkable—capturing the visceral humanity, desire and unflagging political will of a religious movement." from Jesus Camp@Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Camp)

"God Hates The World" - as far as I can tell, that was released by true believers.

That's OK Haus, don't put yourself through any mental anguish if you have to think about unpleasant things in your past.

As far as the "God HATES ________ (insert group here)______" gang, its serious, if their warped view can be thought of as serious. You see them from time to time at the Cable Car Turnaround in San Francisco at Powell and Market with their giant banners screaming their "message". :argue:

Sunday school at my old Methodist church was downright coma-inducing compared to that camp.

OK, I'm back with more hair raising insanity from the too-insane-to-believe but sadly its true.

First, a Truthout.org story with two pictures that say too much!

TO article (http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/printer_122107J.shtml)

and some more indepth background of the group doing the brainwashing of our Nintendo generation of warriors

Hope I don't scare folks too much.
