According to an Associated Press poll, approval of Congress among Democrats fell 21 points, from 48 percent in May to 27 percent.

The DNC (Do Nothing Congress) is committed to playing the cautious political strategy game rather than pushing for real progress. Just as they have done over the past 6 years, they don't care how low they go, as long as they feel they are positioned ahead of the Repugs for each upcoming election.

Pelosi and Reid are a joke.

The speeches given at the Presidential Primary debates are full of hot air and empty promises because even if elected the winner will just continue to play it safe.

The American people in general and Democratic voters in particular want OUT of Iraq and this President IMPEACHED.

If ever America was ready to elect a Washington outsider it is NOW!

Thats as truthfull a statement as the situation looks.

Angry constituents certainly are kicking them in the heine for impeachment. More are joining.

This showed up on the LaRouchePAC site, did anyone see it? I'd hate to let FOX alone expose something like this.

Kucinich Denounces "Imperial Candidates" After Clinton and Edwards were Caught Trying to Silence Debate
July 13, 2007 (LPAC)--The open mike was a well-deserved embarrassment for Hillary Clinton and John Edwards, when they were caught talking, at the July 12 NAACP candidates forum in Detroit, Michigan, about suppressing debate in the Democratic Party, and blocking candidates from being included in the debate.

Even more to the point, Clinton and Edwards had gotten a lack-luster response compared to Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, who stole the show and got a rousing ovation when he called for the impeachment of imperial warmonger, Dick Cheney.

Edwards whispered in Hillary's ear that "we should have a more serious and a smaller group," at the debates; to which she opportunistically answered, "We've got to cut the number ... They're not serious." Fox News microphones caught the exchange on their open microphone and immediately blew up the story.

Rep. Kucinich had a powerful response saying, "Candidates, no matter how important or influential they perceive themselves to be, do not have and should not have the power to determine who is allowed to speak to the American public and who is not."

"Imperial candidates are as repugnant to the American people and to our Democracy as an imperial President."

Kucinich's campaign indicated they are fighting back, and will "immediately take steps" to counter actions by Clinton and Edwards to "narrow" the debates.

I must agree and I recall a saying I heard years ago, "what American needs is a statesman, not another politician."

May I add that your Democrat Congress' approval rating is below that of George Bush's. So much for a mandate for change (to Democrat) in the 06 elections.

A Russian friend of mine put it better, "governments change but the lies stay the same".

jr2007sc: Uncomfortable, but true. Worth mentioning though is that approval is low exactly because the democrats were expected to stand up to Bush.

so far the cajones are not there. I am sure if they win the WH they will find a new bravado or should I say a spine?
