I will be moving POL to a new server any day now. There may be a day or two that the site is unnavailable. There also may be a few posts that will not make it onto the new server if they are posted to the old server during the move.

if you're reading this, congratulations -- your Internet service provider's domain name server's have pointed you to the new home of ProgressivesOnline.com.

This new server has upgraded hardware, PHP and database software and you should find that the site responds significantly faster. It will pave the way for other improvements in the near future including a better live chat interface (the old one is now disabled).

When I have time I will also upgrade to the latest version of the vBulletin software which is a major pain cave considering that this site is highly customized (all the customizations need to be re-applied after upgrades). When that happens you will know it because the site will be funky for a week or two.

The home page is slowed down by the news feeds and auto login but the rest of the page loads seem to be 2 or 3 times faster for me.

I installed a cool new live PHP/AJAX chat program but it just won't work and there's no support for it. I'll work on another solution.

I find this to be so, with the exception of Newbie's "liberal" thread, which threw me off to an error page.....................

it's time for another upgrade of the forum software.

Since this site is highly customized, things will look and run funky while the pieces are being rebuilt. Could take a week before things return to normal.
