This country is in an outrage over NFL superstar Michael Vick's running of a dog fighting ring where guests pay to watch animal abuse while every day they themselves pay the meat industry to do much worse!

If it wasn't for the fact that our perverse, profit based rather than ethic based society endorses factory farming, religious zealots might indeed be holding signs that say "meat eater's will roast like a pig over a fire pit in hell".

actually, jane, if their intent was anything beyond just being silly, i believe it would be to parody religious extremists who make issues out of stuff in the Bible. "Mixing meats" was just the example.

True, the vegetarian angle never came to me as I watched it. Having had to endure the "God hates ______", crappola in San Francisco, this looked like the perfect parody of those wackos who blow biblical words out of context to justify obsessive annoying behavior.
