I thought I'd post things that find in nature, that I think are downright clever. Post your observations, if you've made any recently. None of these are particularly groundbreaking observations, but, struck me as interesting.
I was doing a pickup in San Mateo, waiting in front of an apartment that had a broken down fountain. There were about 5 different color pansies planted all around the fountain a couple feet deep.
Some species of moth was fluttering from flower to flower. Getting as close as I could, I observed the moths long tubular "tongue" curl up and out. As it settled on a flower, its tongue would go into the stem, and the flower, cleverly had designed its length, so that the moths head would brush against its pistil, ensuring that some pollen would get stuck on him.
Isn't that clever. :)
