Hi folks,
I'd like to add my commentary to the discussion James and Waffle have been having on the '~ Gay....' thread. I thought this issue big enough to warrant its own headline... so my two cents....

I can see both sides of this issue. I understand James’ arguments about why we should get out now. I also see the value of Waffle’s stance. It is really only a question of which is the greater evil. I have never been to Iraq. I don’t speak Arabic. I have not studied the issue thoroughly. It would take a lot of knowledge to have good judgment about this thing. It is big and complicated.
If you value the lives of US troops most, then you must support immediate withdrawal. If you believe that some sort of political settlement is really possible then you might consider…

Dubya has two employees [Petreus and the ambassador] who claim everything will be rosy. Well we have heard that everything will be rosy many times in the past. We need just another six months. We have had dozens of “Major turning points”. Give the surge time to work.

A documentary was released the other day “Meeting resistance” I think it is called. It consists of interviews with the bombers/fighters/terrorist/Iraqi patriots/Islamic radicals whatever you want to call them. I think it is very very important to know the enemy. I think it would be really good to know who we are really fighting and why. I am not dumb enough to believe anything Team Dubya says on this issue.
I am not dumb enough to believe that Team Dubya has the wisdom to make the right judgment on withdrawing US troops or choosing an effective strategy or even spending the money on real Iraqi reconstruction and not letting it get embezzled by clever but dishonest businessmen.

Impeach Chenney and Bush now. I don’t care what it costs. I don’t care if the chances are low. It is the only possible solution. Beginning of a solution I should say. Pelosi will live to regret not impeaching them as soon as she became speaker. Too bad for Amercan Servicemen. Too bad for the Iraqis.

Hey James,
You have really really strong opinions about the war... but you never responded to my post above? Why is that? Not interested in my opinion? Have you read the post above?
Wait... I'm an example of why the right always wins even against the overwhelming majority of American public opinion...
I'm confused, James. Explain it to me. [and used sentences please. we've had enough misunderstandings]
