Pride goeth before a fall:

There is a new book out that shows that the one world government is the NAZI "Fourth Reich," meaning, the NAZIs were not defeated in World War II, but following that war, took control in America and the world to bring into our world the New World Order that is the second rise of NAZISM, the Fourth Reich. The ruling elite did this in connivance with many wealthy Americans who saw profit and power and control in this system and they have slowly turned the once-free United States Republic into a new empire of the wealthy – a Fourth Reich.

WHAT IN JULY 2008 ARE THE BIGGEST SIMILARITIES BETWEEN ADOLPH HITLER’S THIRD REICH OF WWII AND MODERN AMERICA AND THIS WORLD?

We see the erosion of individual liberties. If you say anything that’s unpopular, you even risk jail and a fine. We also see increasingly that our police forces are no longer the citizen warriors or blue-clad police from a few years ago. They are now black-clad with the cold scuttle helmet, the same design that the Nazi troops used in WWII. And we also see that Hitler, when he invaded Poland, he didn’t want to upset the German people by calling up general conscription (drafting youth into war), so he used reserve troops to start WWII, just like we’re using our reserve troops to fight imperial wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Of course, then you come up through the similarities and parallels between the burning of the Reichstag and Enabling Act with the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in the United States and the rapid passage of the Patriot Act and the creation of Homeland Security. The parallels between WWII Germany and modern America are all there.

The big difference in modern America with Nazi Germany is that in the Germany of the 1930s, the state gained control over the corporations. Today in modern America, we see that the corporations have gained control over the state. But the end result is the same.

America Without Habeas Corpus

UNDER THIS CURRRENT ADMINISTRATION, WE STILL DON’T EVEN HAVE A RESTORATION OF HABEAS CORPUS, WHICH MEANS ANY AMERICAN CITIZEN CAN BE ARRESTED WITHOUT CHARGE STATED.

That’s right. That’s why we no longer have a Republic. Without habeas corpus in the United States today, what we now have is a Fourth Reich, somebody in a position of power - the President, the Attorney General, the head of Homeland Security – can simply point a figure at you and designate you as an undesirable and hence, an enemy combatant, and they can grab you and imprison you and you don’t even get a day in court, much less a lawyer. Business transactions with Germany were not illegal until Hitler declared war on the United States on December 11, 1941. Six days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the Trading With the Enemy Act after it had been made public that U.S. companies were doing business with the declared enemy of the United States. On October 20, 1942, the U.S. government ordered the seizure of German banking operations in New York City and seized property under the Trading with the Enemy Act. Allen Welsh Dulles (April 7, 1893 – January 29, 1969)

Kennedy. Between active government service, Dulles was a corporate lawyer and partner at Sullivan & Cromwell. His brother, John Foster Dulles (February 25, 1888 – May 24, 1959) served as U.S. Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953 to 1959.

That’s correct. During the war, any serviceman who served in North Africa would probably believe that we had as much problems with the Arabs there as we had with the Nazis because the Arabs, through the Muslim Brotherhood, had aligned themselves with the Nazis.

But we managed to overcome that and we defeated the Nazis in WWII, so the Muslim Brotherhood was then picked up by British intelligence at the end of the war. But then a short time later, they were passed along to our CIA, which at that time was headed by Allen Dulles. His brother, John Foster Dulles, was Secretary of State under Eisenhower. The two Dulles brothers were the attorneys for Cromwell and Sullivan, which was the law firm that represented the Schroder Bank and the Rockefeller-Schroeder Investment Corporation - the very nexus of business connections that supported the Nazis.

So, they were instrumental in bringing Nazis over to the United States under Project Paperclip (V-2 rockets at White Sands Proving Ground, New Mexico) and other programs at the end of the war and white-washing their Nazi records. This is what put a huge nucleus of National Socialists right into our military-industrial complex where it spread out and is trying to gain control today.

That’s absolutely correct. When we took the Muslim Brotherhood into Afghanistan in the 1980s to fight against the Russian incursion there, the Muslim Brotherhood had already obtained a pretty bad name. They were originally thrown out of Egypt by Gamal Nasser because of their violence, but they were predominantly extremist Wahhabi Muslims. As a result, they were taken in by Saudi Arabia. This is still the predominant faction in Saudi Arabia today and, of course, this is where Osama Bin Laden entered the picture. [ Editor's Note: Gamal Abdel Nasser (January 15, 1918 to September 28, 1970) was President of Egypt from 1956 until his death.]

Then after the Soviets left Afghanistan during the Clinton years when we had the was in Kosovo, we find that it was the Al Qaeda that was funding and training the Kosovo Liberation Army, which was the faction that the United States supported. So, we can see that the CIA was involved with, if not controlling, Al Qaeda all the way up until the George Bush II administration. I think that should cause every thinking person to take a very serious second look at the attacks of 9/11.

WHY DO YOU THINK THAT THE CURRENT BUSH AND FORMER BUSH ACTUALLY WENT INTO IRAQ?

(laughs) Well, of course, there is the question of the oil. But I don’t think that is the real reason because we were getting only 16% of our imported oil from Iraq prior to our invasion and we aren’t even getting that now because they keep blowing up the pipelines. That’s also the sticking point even with our little puppet government that we put in power over there is they are dragging their feet on the relinquishing the rights to all their oil to us. They have pretty much gone along with everything else, but they still don’t want to give up all their oil rights. So, I don’t think it was about oil.

What Did Bush Administration Want
from Iraq National Museum in Baghdad?

Personally, I think it had more to do with the looting of the Iraqi National Museum because I have in my files news articles from the associated press and European media from 1999 through 2001, speaking of ‘amazing new discoveries being made in Iraq by French and German archaeological teams, which I find very fascinating because after all it was probably France and Germany that were most opposed to our invasion of Iraq.

When we decided to attack Iraq in the spring of 2003, we violated normal military tactics, which is to seize an objective, consolidate your winnings and then move on to the next objective. We simply made a beeline for Baghdad, which is one of the reasons we’re having so many problems still is because we failed to pacify the countryside. Instead, we went straight to Baghdad and despite assurances to world museum directors by the Pentagon that the Iraqi National Museum would be protected, it was not and there was wholesale looting. According to Col. Matthew Bogdanos, who investigated the Iraqi Museum looting for General Tommy Franks, he described the looting of the basement as an ‘inside job.’ He said there were guards conveniently missing; they had keys to some of the locked vaults; they knew exactly what they were looking for; they by-passed expensive looking fakes. They went right for the new, uncatalogued stuff.

What would this be? Why would they have such an interest in ancient artifacts? Because this was all coming from the cradle of human civilization, the Sumerian civilization. On the Sumerian cuneiform tablets, we find not only accounts of extraterrestrial visitation on this planet, but we also find perhaps the secrets of energy manipulation at the atomic and subatomic levels. That’s the very thing that the Nazis were working on in their infamous ‘Bell Project,’ which was a device that created counter-rotating energy and magnetic fields to create another field, which could then theoretically lead to antigravity, flying saucers, star portals, time and inter-dimensional gateways, time travel, a lot of real science fiction sounding things.”

Jason was tased seven times on the street, while completely unresisting. We just heard from him-he's still pulling copper out of his hip from the taser gun, has a long, deep laceration in his leg that is still untreated, was beaten up badly and has a black eye, a hurt mouth and many lacerations, but says he's doing great. Elliot Hughes, a sweet, nineteen year old who came to our day camp, was badly beaten when the cops knocked him off his bicycle. They stepped on his chest, and he was coughing blood all night but received no medical treatment. The guards were calling him ‘Princess' and making homophobic remarks. We heard from Jason that last night, Elliot was making noises to protest not receiving any food for more than twelve hours. Twelve officers entered his cell. Screams were heard for over five minutes. He was tasered three times, maced, and beaten, then removed and the men were told he was being taken to a restraint chair.

The corporate National Socialist fascists, both the power brokers and the powers since John F. Kennedy, have set America up for the fall we now see clearly looming. Bush has fast tracked America's economic and Constitutional demise, and now some Americans, not enough Americans, realise Shub's intended precarious economic position that Shrub's administration created for America by which means they knew citizens would more easily be able to be controlled. Now we see We, the people's Constitution lying torn and the commensurate abuses of power against some of America's best citizens being carried out by means of unconstitutional police powers.

Obama, a perceived liberal, should he win the Presidency of the United States of America, will be decimated by deliberate turns of the economic screws given the present precarious state of America's economy. Should that happen during Obama's watch, Obama will be blamed, and that will be the end of anything approaching liberalism in America while leaving the Democratic Party in utter chaos and confusion.

Now with that in mind, on Obama's first day in office, as a good licensed Harvard Constitutional lawyer should, Obama will make political plans with members of Congress to completely undue all of the anti-constitutional laws that were passed and institute criminal preceedings against Bush, Chaney and their administration pursuant to the provisions of our Constitution, won't he? Well, won't he?

All of America who cares to have a constitutional democracy and an independant America, vote McKinney, vote Green Party!

"Out of 535 members of Congress, Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney was the first to break the consensus of silence and point to the obvious - that the Bush administration had received advance warnings of an attack, and that this called for a full investigation, without limits on what line of questioning is acceptable. After saying so in March, she was vilified without mercy in the (corporate) press, until it became clear that many more people were believing her and supporting her than the pundits and spin managers imagined.

She is certainly outspoken, more so than any other member of Congress except perhaps for Ron Paul, a truly maverick Republican from Texas. Who else in either chamber has the guts to speak openly about Henry Kissinger's war crimes, the CIA murders of Patrice Lumumba and Salvador Allende, domestic political repression under the COINTELPRO program, the possible U.S. government role in the assassination of Martin Luther King, or the clandestine U.S.role in sparking the Rwandan genocide of 1994? And few indeed are those who still refuse to stand down and stop recalling that the Bush administration came to power in an illegitimate coup."

You may have noticed, Maji, I am registered Green Party. I played that voting for the lesser of two evils game nearly all of my voting life, as a Democrat. I was posting here on this site at the time I changed my political party affiliation to Green, so it wasn't all that long ago. At least I'll rest better knowing I did what I could do to do the right thing for the right reasons that includes the time I take to post what I do here on this site.

An alternative approach is to vote against every incubant who had anything to do with the effective destruction of our constitution and our rights under our constitution. Between doing that and voting Green Party, I think voting Green Party is the better of the two approaches.

Notice how there were no protests and marches during the demoRATic convention? Republicans have LIVES and more productive things to do!! Liberals think that equal rights and free speech pertain only to them. They don't belong at the republican convention. Why were these protesters not out helping the hurricane victims if they have so much time on their hands and want to help America?

Yes, there were anti-war protests at the Democratic convention. By the way, I'm pretty sure that Republicans take part in protests too, usually against things like gay marriage and abortion. Don't they have more productive things to do? Anyway, I don't see why that has anything to do with journalists actually getting arrested. I also don't see how someone's First Amendment freedoms can be denied on the grounds that "they don't belong at the republican convention."

Let me explain something to you. Political activism and charitable/humanitarian aid are both very appropriate and necessary methods of creating change for the better. Humanitarian assistance lends a helping hand to people after a disaster, etc, has already occurred. Political activism, on the other hand, often gets to the root of a problem. It reminds me of a quote from Dom Helda Camara: "When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist."

In response to Jennifer and Magi2, I think you both raise some good points, and this topic should probably have its own thread. My own view is that Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader should pursue a safe state strategy. In addition, the Green Party's infrastructure needs to be built up first and foremost before we can hope to have an impact on national elections. More to say, but I need to go now.

I've read a few of your postings on the articles mentioned and feel it's pretty much a waste of time when there are really more pressing things to read. My condominium is in the San Francisco Bay area. I am well aware of IRV there. SF has districted elections. Conservative districts vote conservative and liberal districts vote liberal for seats on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. There are many more liberal districts in SF than conservative districts, so the SF Board of Supervisors is predominately liberal. There are merits to IRV, and there are down sides. True political innovation in parties may be watered down by the IRV process. Then again SF, though it is a world-class city, is entrenched in maintaining its' victorianesqe, distinctive small town like neighborhood appeal complete with its' ma and pa owned stores. There won't be anything like Al Fresco's architectural plans, or any other new age architectural plans for that matter accepted there by SF city planning. A problem to consider is a hypothetical liberal, moderate and a conservative running against each other in a political race. Decades ago, Rockefellar, for example, "a lifelong Republican and party contributor, like his father in the dynastic line, is a committed member of the moderate "Rockefeller Republicans" that arose out of the political ambitions and public policy stance of his brother Nelson. In 2006 he teamed up with former Goldman Sachs executives and others to form a fund-raising group based in Washington, Republicans Who Care, that supported moderate Republican candidates over more ideological contenders.[35]" That is how the United States of America has gotten to where it is today. Repeating a politically negative past is not a recipe for future political sucess, and IRV will not solve that problem.

My conclusions are based on a huge amount of reseach conducted by noted authors whose works I have read or by presenters I have seen in video form or by presenters I have seen in confernces I have attended and in discussions I have had with them. You know I do not watch television. One of my roomates, however, was watching the RNConvention on her computer. I stopped to listen for a few minutes. I'm assuming that you're referring to protestors who somehow made it inside the RNC convention last night. I'm talking about journalists out on the streets who got arrested simply for covering the protests outside of the convention and the police response.

I specifically said in my first response to you that there were anti-war protests outside the DNC. At no point did I say that there were rightwing protests at the Democratic convention. When you asked for examples, I thought you wanted to know examples of political activism getting to the root of a problem, of which I gave you a few. The other point I was trying to make was that Republicans do take part in various protests. It may or may not be at a party's nominating convention.

Yes. However, if you're suggesting that McCain's free speech rights were being violated by a Code Pink activist who stood up to express opposition and was escorted out of the auditorium within a minute, then I'd say that you're dead wrong. It's inevitable that in a crowded auditorium there are going to be people who interrupt a speaker at some point. I'm sure that the audience interrupted him with their cheers and shouts just as much as that one person. If one individual is culpable of abridging his free speech rights, then most of the auditorium is equally to blame. Either way, McCain was able to give his speech in its entirety. Fair enough. At least he wasn't arrested by the police.

There are conservatives too, horribly concerned about one world government, the New World Order, the Fourth Reich. Do you know Lear jets, the private corporate jet aircraft? John Lear. Jr. the son of John Lear, Sr. who owned the company who manufactured Lear jets, and an airline pilot and CIA pilot for some covert CIA operations, husband, father, UFO and aliens researcher, knew Bob Lazar since before the time Bob was interviewed for his position at Area 51 and S4, and John continues to know Bob Lazar to this day. Over the last week we've seen even the MSM drop the Village kewl kids pose and stand up to criticize the pervasive cruelty, abuse, and illegal use of force "law" enforcement inflicted upon the Twin Cities community.

The torture, sadism, and abuse the Minneapolis Police, St. Paul Police, Ramsey County Sheriffs (and out of town departments) unleashed upon protesters, press, passers-by, and community members took place while Homeland Security and the Secret Service they control were in direct command of all area "law" enforcement and had final authority over all decisions about protests and protesters. In other words, what we saw in the Twin Cities shows us how American local "law" enforcement act in broad daylight when the Feds are on the scene and supervising their work.

Over the last week, we had a chance to observe de facto professional cultural norms in America's local, state, and Federal enforcement. This is what democracy looks like?

What happened to people in local communities of color who weren't even associated with the protests? Here's what Rebecca Trotzky-Sirr, a fourth-year Univ. of Minnesota medical student learned when she interviewed a local resident on behalf of United Communities Against Police Brutality:

While much attention has been paid to arrests of prominent journalists & protesters harsh treatment during arrests, in the streets of St Paul many community members feel invisible as they live out the RNC protest repercussions. Undocumented families, refugees have been staying away from their homes in highly patrolled areas near downtown St Paul in fear of encountering police by accident. I visited and documented a gentleman of color who had no prior criminal history, who was detained without cause near central St Paul. During his arrest, while handcuffed he was beat by a police officer. The victim had recently had major surgery, released from hospital less than a week prior. Later, during booking, the same officer punched him repeatedly in the head and neck in front of other officers who looked on without concern. When police realized that this man was severely injured, they drove him one block away from the hospital and let him limp his way to the ER.

People of color, those most marginalized in our community, have faced severe consequences because of RNC protests. Police riled up, frustrated with protesters are taking out their anger on those without large wallets, or skin privilege.

Michael Cavlan, RN is a nurse who works on surgical trauma and burn units. I know surgical trauma nurses -- I used to work with them. The ones I knew weren't prone to overstatement: working around intense suffering makes that a very poor occupational choice. What did Michael Cavlan observe on the steets of the Twin Cities during the RNC?

Day Two

I hear "we need a medic over here" so we responded. Apparently, the police had maced a member of the "Minnesota Peace Team." These were all people marked in bright green vests, who were working with the police to contain violence. The two that were maced, full in the face were both 70 year old men. For the record, the peace teams had been very successful in de-escalating violence. I ran over and treated one and my buddy treated the other one. While I was doing so, someone from the crowd ran over and said "buddy, get out of here, I heard the cops say 'get the medic in blue.'"

I hightailed out of there, ditching my blue scrubs. Ironically, as I did so a young man has a seizure, fell and hit his head hard right in front of me. I was still a medic, just unmarked now. I and others treated him until an ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital. Again, for the record we were now getting reports that the police were specifically targeting journalists and medics all over.

At this time the police gave a dispersal order. We knew what that meant. They threw gas and concussion grenades into the crowd and then opened up with rubber bullets, wooden baton rounds, tear gas etc etc.

My team treated another young lady who had been maced in the face and delivered her to the clinic, to get cleaned up from the burning chemicals on her face, eyes, arms and clothes. By the way, this stuff hurts even when you only put your exposed skin on someone who was hit by it.

Day Three

My buddy was redeployed back to jail support while I went back to more organizational meetings. During one, I got paged. Apparently, the police had beaten two of the protesters in jail so badly that they released them. When they release people that they beat, that is bad. They asked me to come help them, as they know I am a Trauma Nurse. Then they called back and said that it was OK as a Doctor had showed up at the clinic site..

One young man had apparently just returned from serving in Iraq. I treated him after the police maced him, full in the eyes. He had been simply walking by, going somewhere. As I treated him one of the NLG lawyers came by, took his information and a picture. At this time, the wall of police opened up, a commander of some sort pointed at myself and the lawyer, took a picture of us. I thought, "oh sh*t" and myself, my son and the lawyer started to walk away. Then a group of about fifteen bike cops came after us, surrounded me and pushed my son aside. Sean went to get the lawyer to help and they apparently threatened to tase him. Thank God, I did not know this at this time.

They detained me, searched me and questioned me. Then they let me go. I took my son home and went home to bed.

Thank you for that chilling look into Hitlerian police state tactics employed against We, the people in St. Paul courtesy of the Patriot Act that empowers Homeland Security that oversees local police. Now it is obvious for all to see that local police are federalized.

What are the "powers that be" afraid of? What do they have to lose?

1) We, the people of the United States of America overwhelmingly believe that 9/11 was an inside job, not because we want to belive it, but because the evidence says that's what happened, and we've seen the evidence that does not add up to conclusions drawn in the 9/11 Report. If proven true in a legal proceeding, then, that is a most serious crime for which there are grave and severe penalties!

Here I have the most compelling reason to vote for Barrack Obama for President of the United States of America, namely, to attempt stop the globalists' Fourth Reich plans for our world!

The Shrub Administration had several military aircraft moved from Minot AFB to Barksdale, Louisiana that had on board unauthorized, unsecured, undocmented and undeclared nuclear weapons. According to Russian Military Intelligence Analysts those aircraft with those nuclear weapons on board were destined to go to the middle east and to be used to attack Iran under the authority of the Shrub Administration and with the support of the Shrub Administration's minions in the Pentagon. Why and how, when it is Congress that is the only only constitutional governmental body with the authority to declare war, were those military aircraft loaded with undeclared US nuclear weapons on board released under bypassed military nuclear weapons security precedures? Why did so many of the military men directly responsible for tracking those particular nuclear weapons, both enlisted men and officers assigned at both Minot and Barksdale, end up dead within the same short span of time after it became known that US nuclear weapons had been moved outside of normal, stingent military nuclear security procedures?

Might there be an inside, surreptious nuclear attack against We, the people and against America set up by the globalists? Might this occur prior to the time that Obama would occupy the Whitehouse? Might the economic rug be pulled out from under America by the globalist Federal Reserve even if Obama should occupy the Whitehouse if it appears the Repulican Party will lose the November elections? Afterall, if the globalists purpetrated 9/11 for their cause, what will they not do?

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sens. John Kerry and Bob Casey today called on U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to explain how 1,000 sensitive nuclear missile parts could have gone missing.

“Yesterday’s revelation that the Administration has reportedly lost track of a 1,000 sensitive nuclear missile components is only the latest reminder of how this President has dangerously compromised our nuclear security,” said Sen. Kerry. “While George Bush and John McCain were preoccupied with the misguided war in Iraq, they lost sight of the real danger – terrorists getting their hands on the world’s most dangerous weapons. This is just another in a series of nuclear debacles that have happened on this Administration’s watch. America deserves a President who will make securing nuclear materials – rather than losing them – a top priority.”

“I have serious concerns over the growing pattern of negligent conduct by the Executive Branch when it comes to tracking and safeguarding our nuclear weapons and related components,” said Sen. Casey. “It astonishes me that the Air Force is losing track of the most dangerous weapons in our military arsenal, especially when nuclear terrorism represents the gravest threat to our national security. I urge Secretary of Defense Gates to undertake a thorough review of the process by which our nation safeguards its nuclear stockpile.”

The missing nuclear weapon components follow a series of serious errors by the Bush Administration. In 2006, the US military shipped four nuclear-missile detonators to Taiwan. It took over a year before the error was identified. In another misstep, a B-52 bomber loaded with nuclear-armed missiles was flown across the country to Louisiana.

Dear Mr. Secretary:

We write to express grave concerns over continuing reports that the U.S. Air Force may be compromising our national security as a result of inadequate safeguards on its stockpiles of nuclear weapons and related components.

According to yesterday’s press reports, the U.S. military cannot account for over 1,000 critical nuclear missile components and seems unable to provide an accurate inventory for the total number of such components in its nuclear arsenal. This latest alleged problem, when viewed against the backdrop of a series of related errors, raises legitimate concerns about the security of our country’s nuclear weapons arsenal.

Yesterday’s revelations come on the heels of your recent termination of both the U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff and Air Force Secretary following an investigation by Admiral Kirkland Donald that found “[a] gradual erosion of nuclear standards and a lack of effective oversight by Air Force leadership.”

Indeed, a series of incidents unmistakably conveys a lax approach to nuclear security by the Air Force. In August 2007, a B-52 bomber accidentally and unknowingly flew six nuclear weapons across the country. In March 2008, we learned that the Defense Logistics Agency accidentally transported four nuclear missile detonators to Taiwan in August 2006. Even more alarming was the fact that the U.S. military reportedly did not learn of the detonators’ location until contacted by Taiwanese defense officials more than 18 months later. More recently, an internal Air Force study obtained under the Freedom of Information Act concluded that U.S. nuclear bombs are stored at several air bases in Europe that fail basic security requirements.

This disturbing pattern is simply unacceptable and raises serious questions about the Air Force’s stewardship and oversight of the world’s most dangerous weapons. In light of these errors, we respectfully request that you confirm what steps have been taken to reestablish positive control over nuclear and nuclear-related components, confirm that all nuclear and nuclear-related components are accounted for, and discuss any ongoing efforts to improve oversight and record-keeping of nuclear and nuclear-related components. We also ask that you comment on the adequacy of security arrangements in place in countries where U.S. nuclear weapons are based, including in Europe, and advise us of any ongoing improvements in this area.

Thank you for your consideration of this request. There is simply no single matter that is more serious than the security of our nation’s nuclear weapons. We look forward to hearing from you on this critical issue.

Several things stood out for me in that video. While the press focused on the not so basic anymore constitutional right of the press to be free, in order to enter St. Paul City Hall, all the journalists accepted as being normal that they were being effectively, illegally searched without probable cause by scanning machines before being permitted to enter the city hall building, the focus of the press on 9/11 being an inside job, the illegal war in Iraq, etc. were not being covered on behalf of, We, the people and that city officials had to be sought after rather than St. Paul city officials being in active pursuit of the press to apologize and to go on record as being in support of the rights and freedoms that are guaranteed in our United States Constitution. I was apalled that the police suggested to the press that they be "embedded" with the police to avoid being arrested in the future just as journalists have had to be "embedded" with the military in Iraq in to cover the United States' illegal war there and the effects that war has had and is having on the people of Iraq and the people of the United States.

Now that we've had a few weeks to settle, a look back at Labor Day in the Twin Cities. Labor Day was of course also Day One of the Republican National Convention. Video was released today of an apparent mass arrest of utterly peaceful concert goers at the SEIU Labor Day concert.

My personal favorite moment in the tape is an off-camera exchange. Police in riot gear have surrounded loungers in a waterfront park. They announce, "Ladies and Gentlemen, You're Under Arrest" and you hear one young woman say incredulously "Are you serious?"

Yep, I'm afraid they are.

The video includes multiple angles of the event as well as an interview with the cameraman who buried his footage and was one of almost two hundred people arrested for rioting without probable cause.

More than eight hundred people were arrested in St. Paul during the Republican National Convention. This video shows that at least twenty percent of the eight hundred plus arrested were seized without due cause.

So, what is going on in Alaska concerning aPalin; really going on?

A letter from a very concerned man who lives in Alaska:

I think you know that I'm not a big fan of Obama...I want to be...I try to
be...but I have some reservations about him. But - put into the current
perspective, McCain and Palin are truly and undeniably evil in comparison
to him. So...reluctantly I give him my support.

I want to share with you what's happening here in Alaska. It's become very
surreal in an 'X Files' sort of way. Alaska has been inundated with media
and press people for a few weeks now. It's weird to see Greta Vonsestburg
(sp?) from FOX on the streets of Wasilla and Anchorage. What's even odder,
and quite bit more disturbing, is the presence of guys in black suits and
dark glasses all over town. These guys are Secret Service/bodyguards for
the 30 lawyers that the McCain-Palin campaign sent here. These lawyers have
taken over the state Department of Justice! They are the ones who drafted
letters of refusal to appear for the 13 people who were subpoenaed to give
testimony in the 'Troopergate' hearings. (Of note: Palin herself filed an
ethics charge against herself before she was tapped for VP). These guys
seem to carry all the clout of a federal official...but they aren't. I have
a good friend who's the top anchorwoman for Alaska Public Radio network and
the stories she's telling me are amazing. These McCain goons have contacted
every TV, radio, and news outlet in Alaska and made warnings to them to not
publish or air or give out information that puts Palin in a negative light.
They've even been calling reporters homes and harassing their family
members, saying things like, "...if you want to keep your house...if you
want your spouse to keep their job...", etc, and then 'suggesting' they
have a talk with their spouse about 'being careful about what [they]
say'...Unbelievable!

Sean Parnell, the Lt Governor, has been "absent"..."out of the
office"..."not in town"...ever since Palin was nominated. Colberg, the
Attorney General, who should be running the state if and when the gov and
lt gov are not here, was sent to Kansas by the McCain camp lawyers for
"vacation" and "an undisclosed reason and amount of time". For
"vacation"??? At this time? So who's running the government here then?
Seems to be the McCain Lawyers...!

We have 4 major AM radio stations here. Three are right-wing mouthpieces
that mimic FOX. The other is Progressive-owned. There's about 6
conservative talk shows and one progressive one. Every conservative station
is behind Palin while the lone voice of reason (the progressive station) is
attacked daily for being "anti American", "leftist criminals", etc. And I'm
sure you heard about the comment: "...leftist communist baby-killing
maggots...", that a local talk show host called the Woman Against Palin
rally organizers (in addition to giving their phone numbers out on air and
telling listeners to call them and harass them. Many death threats were
recorded...!). So one local radio station is not 'obeying' the McCain
lawyers and still able to get info out. I haven't seen anything on national
news about this covert 'takeover'...have you heard anything there?

So...what I see is an actual invasion. Alaska has been invaded and the
media and 2 branches of the state government have been taken over by
lawyers who work for a presidential candidate. And then I look nationally
and see that investment and banking organizations have been bought by the
US government. There's only one word that comes to mind when I put this
together: fascism. Could Obama change the direction in which we are headed?

I don't know. I'm willing to see him try. But I have my doubts that he will
get to the white house. The elections were fixed the past 2 times (note:
they were fixed in AK when Murkowski (Governor) took office 4 years ago -
the democrats sued the state and found 200% voter turnouts in 20 out of 40
districts...! And nothing happened afterwards...There's many questions
about the legitimacy of Palin's "win" also). The elections, this November,
are also fixed (Google the video, "Hacking Democracy"). McCain will "win"
and Sarah Palin will be the rationale they use to make their illegal and
fraudulent "win" seem valid in the eyes of Americans. I predict one of two
things will happen: either people will go, "OK, well, darn", and allow this
to happen..or...people will riot in the streets calling for justice...and
martial law will be called and the current emperor will either stay on or
pass his crown to his protege.

Three weeks after the Republican National Convention packed up and the country's best hockey arena has ice in it again, the city of St. Paul is still wondering what happened. How did a city that loves its police force -- a city where many residents are on a first-name basis with their cops -- wake up on Sept. 1 in a militarized zone where the cops were deployed in military formations, using military tactics, in ways that did not discriminate between the small band of creeps that came to cause trouble and the throngs of peaceful citizens exercising their rights?

There is no answer yet to that question. But last night's unofficial hearing on the issue -- no mayor, no police chief, no city council president -- showed that the issue has not gone away, and isn't likely to. People packed the City Council chamber, most bringing complaints about the way citizens were treated by public servants.

The focus was on the police, but it wasn't the police who were the target of the anger. It was the policymakers, and the policies that led to mass arrests, the use of pepper gas, concussion grenades, rubber bullets (an inventory of the ordnance used should be provided, by the way) against peaceful protesters and the tactics of intimidation that went along for the ride.

Mike Whalen, a waiter and activist who has given free Irish dancing lessons for 35 years (he's probably had his arms around every woman in St. Paul), found his house surrounded by heavily armed police the day before the convention started.

Guns drawn, they said they were looking for bombs, but what they really seemed interested in was rousting the documentary photographers from New York who were staying in Whalen's house, and who made themselves unpopular with New York police for documenting abuses during the 2004 GOP convention in New York City.

Whalen and his guests were detained for three hours, and he spent an hour in handcuffs, in his own back yard, wondering how this could happen in the United States. He was not charged or arrested. Nor has he received an apology.

"People have told me for years that this kind of thing happened in Northern Ireland and South Africa, but I never expected it in St. Paul," he said before Wednesday's hearing. "I've always tried to persuade people to move to St. Paul, because the police are nicer. This was totally absurd, for this to happen here."

He is suing the city.

Most people in St. Paul hate criticizing the cops. My friends in blue are not above criticism. But neither were they the real problem. They did what they were told, and as they were told. The problem was not them. It was the policies.

A lot of ink has been shed

More than 800 people were arrested, including dozens of journalists. A lot of ink has been shed about the arrests of journalists, but if you want good pictures of the bang-bang, you might get banged yourself. The trouble isn't that the journalists were treated like citizens. The problem is how citizens -- for whom the press serves as proxy -- were treated.

That was a disgrace, especially when hundreds were arrested the last day of the convention for the crime of over-staying their permit. Which ranks right up with letting your parking meter expire. Write 'em a ticket, Clancy. Case closed.

Instead, they were pushed and chased, with gas, concussion grenades, surrounded and arrested.

"I was shocked," another familiar St. Paulite, Chuck Lentz, told the hearing. "Our city got hijacked, our city leaders, too."

Lentz, a lawyer, plays accordion in a band called the Eddies that shows up all over town at civic events. I bumped into him during the convention at the Coney Island. He was mad then, and still is mad: "The scope of the militarization was staggeringly over the top."

St. Paul cops every day have to sort out the bad guys from the citizenry. They do a good job of it, usually. But during the GOP convention, with everyone from Homeland Security to the RNC organizers pulling the strings and calling some of the shots, the police forgot what city they were in. Either that, or St. Paul was not St. Paul for several days in September.

'Completely different'

"St. Paul loves its cops and the people love their city," said Dave Thune, the feisty councilman who called Wednesday's hearing on his own. "That's what made it disturbing. All of a sudden, they came to their city and it was completely different. I don't think it's the cops' fault at all. This whole thing has really been hard on the cops."

Thune, like many people, was stunned by the militarization of the city. He knew that cadres of police in riot gear would be in position, if needed. But he did not expect the overwhelming show of force that seemed intended to make people think twice about opening their yaps in their own town.

Patty Guerrero, a 70-year-old grandmother and well-known peace activist, was given a ride by a friendly St. Paul cop when she fell far behind one convention protest march. But when she gathered with her friends later, she discovered that the faster walkers got a different view of events, and they were angry over what they saw as intimidation of peaceful protesters.

"They were scared that our country is becoming a 'fear' country instead of a free country," Guerrero said. "We can't let the city forget."
