I would love to be a Democrat again. I would love to go to meetings again (we had wonderful potluck dinners). I miss all the planning and brain storming and political talk. But after the 2004 election only a few of us stood up and said .... "Whoa, this is ALL wrong! We've been betrayed!" And the kool-aid wore off and the reality sunk in. Democrats are sheep. Just like their dead-eyed Republican counter-parts.
I would join the party again in a heartbeat if the Democrats returned to being a party of the people, not of corporations.
This is what's wrong with the Democrats:
(1) They have to be anti-war. That's what the American people want. Almost three quarters of the population are against the war ... the Democrats should have a united voice.
(2) They have to be for honest elections. After having the 2000 election stolen and the 2004 election ....? The Democrats should be in the streets ... but they're just going along with the status quo.
(3) They have to be anti-globalization and fight for their worker base. "Free trade" is robbing Americans of jobs. But the Democrats in office do little to help unions, help workers or fight for a higher minimum wage.
(4) They have to be anti-corporation & pro American people. Democrats in office do little to bite the corporate hand that feeds them. They do little to end corporate welfare.
(5) We need health care for every American. Just about every other democratic nation provides this basic human need, yet Democrats in office don't do enough.
(6) We have to secure our borders. The laws are there, but not enforced. We lose millions of American jobs to illegal aliens. Plus, America is at risk from terrorists. The Democrats are defused on this issue.
The Democrats need to "grow a set" and promote candidates for "The People". We must return to being the party of and for the PEOPLE!!!!
