Paul McCartney and his wife are lying down next to baby seals to prevent the Canadians from clubbing them to death. Canada is trying to rationalize it as population control but that's about as convincing as the excuses the Bush administration is coming up with for selling our ports to Dubai.

here's my simple letter?

Dear Prime Minister Harper,

Please put an end to the slaughter of seals and restore the world's faith in Canada as a humane nation.

There can be no acceptable excuse or justification, including overpopulation, for this hunting. Surely, there are other ways. If you proceed, the world will graphicly see this brutality for what it is.

Stopping this slaughter is the right thing to do for the seals and for Canada.

human beings can engage in an assortment of immoral and unethical activities to "feed their children" (such as pushing drugs, making/selling biological weapons, etc.). The question on issues like this is always whether it is ethical and never whether or not it generates income.
