From the latest AP-IPSOS poll:

Looks like more and more independents and moderate republicans are beginning to see the light.

I particularly liked this bit:

Stung by criticism, senior officials at the White House and the RNC are reminding GOP members of Congress that Bush's approval ratings may be low, but theirs is lower and have declined at the same pace as Bush's. The message to GOP lawmakers is that criticizing the president weakens him — and them — politically.

I swear a bluebird just landed on my shoulder and a rainbow popped out o' my ass.

Poll Numbers on Bush Hit New Low
Nearly 70 Percent Say Country Headed in Wrong Direction
By RON FOURNIER, AP

WASHINGTON (March 10) - More and more Americans, particularly Republicans, disapprove of President George W. Bush's performance, question his character and no longer consider him a strong leader against terrorism, according to an AP-Ipsos poll documenting one of the bleakest points of his presidency.

I rolled over and had cigarette after reading the above.
Ther's still hope for America and Americans.
Maybe the dark days are coming to an end.

According to a New York Times-CBS poll released Feb. 28, Pres. Bush’s public-approval ratings have fallen to an all-time low of 34 percent—down eight points from January, and lower even than the 35 percent he held in a CBS poll last October in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.http://www.finalcall.com/artman/publish/article_2469.shtml

"By a 47-36 margin, people favor Democrats over Republicans when they are asked who should control Congress.

By comparison, Presidents Clinton and Reagan had public approval in the mid 60s at this stage of their second terms in office, while Eisenhower was close to 60 percent, according to Gallup polls."

Anyone want to take a bet?

These polls will not matter a hill of beans come November. The news cycle is short and so are memories for voters.

If Dems. keep talking about and becoming politically attached to how terrible everything is it will bring another set of losses.

That's one way to look at it. And I would look at it that way if I were in your shoes, as a member of the rapidly diminishing 1/3 of Americans still backing this dismally corrupt man.

Alas, he will be remembered as the president who attacked Iraq and bankrupted America in the process. And just as Nixon's bad poll numbers are remembered ... so will we remember Bush.

The only way that Republicans can do well in November is to count on unverified electronic voting. It's worked before.

But you really don't want to bother looking into the state of voting in America as I have asked you to do in several threads. Too much of a bother. I understand.

i'll take those bets, pea. I commend you for finally offering a wager that you stand to lose.

If you think America is going to conveniently forget what they've seen and heard, especially over the past year, and despite the Democrats not taking full advantage, you are as dillusional as this administration.

Both of you will find out how "politically attached" America is to how terrible this administration is.

I answered your conspiracies are us questions about voting in America. How about you anser a question. If you are interested in getting rid of voting frausd do you think we should prevent people from voting more than once?

Please, though. Keep thinking and becoming emotionally attached to poll numbers in March 2006. Come Nov. and/or 2008 they simply will not matter. Pleaes keep thinking that your campaing platform is going to be ' we hate Bush and don't need to offer solutions' and/or 'withdraw/surrender/placate/acquiesce to the UN' be your stance on national security. Please keep offering unbacked and run from censures on GWB all the while offering no agenda. Keep doing those things, I beg of you and watch Dems. lose even more Congressional seats.

If you are interested in getting rid of voting frausd do you think we should prevent people from voting more than once? You never answered my questions on voting. I wrote a long, respectful request that you take your time and really dig into the voting problems in America. This is a non-partisan issue. Many state level Republicans are involved. But of course you didn't. Because if you did, you would find that we have unverifiable electonic voting with no public scutiny and software that's privately owned and can't be examined. You would discover what many Americans are finding out, including President Carter who says American elections are corrupt, that we have a national emergency on our hands. But you don't want to find that out. No. Why remove your comfort zone. Easier to label it a 'conspiracy'. Slap a label on without research, study or understanding.

And oil is bubbling out of the ground for eternity.

And Bush is doing a FaBuLouS job.

And the Easter Bunny is coming soon.

Why do NeoCons waste their time on a progressive liberal board? I mean, isn't that just kind of sad? I guess when you have very little to do in life except strive to bully, it's a good past time but I certainly wouldn't waste my time on their icky boards.

Besides, these folks are just the remains of the falling 34% who support Bush, so we don't really need to listen to them anyway now, do we?

On to more important things. I thought this quote from the PEW Research Poll on Bush's ratings was very interesting:

"White evangelical Christians were solidly behind the president throughout his first term in office, but that support has waned over the past 15 months. Currently, just 54% of white evangelicals approve of the president's job in office, while 36% disapprove. Bush's support has also dropped among people who attend church each week or more frequently. According to post-election exit polls conducted by the National Election Pool, these voters backed Bush over Kerry by a 61%-38% margin. But today more disapprove (46%) than approve (42%) of his performance."

This poor bastard can't win on any account, can he?
