Buyer's Guide for LGBT-Friendly Companies Released

Guide warns of low-scoring Circuit City, Rite Aid, Whole Foods, Maytag and others; Hundreds of major American brands detailed in handy consumer guide

WASHINGTON - Fair-minded consumers have a powerful new tool for advancing workplace fairness with the release of the Human Rights Campaign's buyer's guide today. The publication - "Buying For Equality" - highlights corporate policies on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality and empowers consumers to make purchasing decisions based on a company's score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's nationally respected Corporate Equality Index.

The Human Rights Campaign is the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender political organization with members throughout the country. It effectively lobbies Congress, provides campaign support and educates the public to ensure that LGBT Americans can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.

Jennifer, please use the "wrap quote tag around selected text" to differentiate your writing from quoted text.

Also, in the interest of copywrite laws, please summize an article in your own words, include the link, and/or partial passages of the writing in quotes rather than the entire text.

I have inserted the quotes in your post as an example.

-V-, I presume you mean to use quotation marks first, then to click on the quote button? What about the box that can be clicked on that says "Options" "Quote message in reply?" What does that do?

The goal is to put their text in a gray indented box. It is not necessary to "use quotation marks first". You can either:

1. Click the quote button between the edit and reply buttons in the post you want to reply to. That will quote their entire text in your post. You should then edit out the unecessary portions of their text.
2. Copy and paste their quote into the new message window then select it and click the "quote icon" which is on the top right of the new message window.
