The ACLU is looking for help fighting the upcoming push by the right to ban flag burning:

This year, the amendment is closer to passing than ever before. The flag amendment sits just one single vote away from passage – we are in real danger of losing our fight to protect the First Amendment. If even one member of the Senate fails to appear for the vote in June, our lawmakers could end up restricting the Bill of Rights for the first time in history.

I love the ACLU. I've donated to the ACLU.
BUT I WON'T CONTRIBUTE ONE DIME OR ONE MORE MINUTE OF MY TIME TO THIS!

This is remedial logic and not worthy of debate. It's a no brainer, that the flag stands for our right to burn it. The Repugs want us to play their stupid little game and divert attention from the real problems.

If the Regressives pass this amendment let it be a monumental testimonial to their ignorance and let America live with the shame of giving them control of Congress and the White House.

Once they pass this there is a precident for resricting what people say. Well if the majority of people think this way it should be law!

Oh the begining of the slippery slope...:(

I find it interesting that the Republicans suddenly start caring about flag burning and gay marriage coincidentally at the same time that their poll numbers reach record lows.

I agree that this is not an issue on which Democrats should take the bait.

While it is wrong to restrict expression, Americans can dissent without burning flags.

I, for one, have had quite enough of the Republicans cynical & crude attempts to manipulate "Mr & Mrs Simpleton America" by wrapping themelves in the flag and painting Democrats as "flag-burners" and "America-haters".

We need to give them such small issues and focus on the big ones.
