Sure, the first half of the book is a lot of fairy tales, fire and brimstone passed on by word of mouth for generations before it was set in stone, and endorses throwing stones, was heavily edited over the years to suit societal norms of the day and is still used today to justify an assortment of descriminations ...
but the star of the 2nd half is the most liberal historical character that ever walked on earth or water.
It is the bio of a man who clearly was "his brother's keeper" and "did unto others as he would have them do unto him". Humble, giving, forgiving, sacrificing, peace loving, materialistic shunning, cheek turning, compassionate, charitable, universal health care providing -- Jesus Christ would be the DNC's dream candidate and a gift from God to the Green Party.
