The National Geographic Channel aired two 60 minute studies of the Revelation from the New Testament called:
Secrets of Revelation
and
Doomsday: Book of Revelation

Significant stuff considering that preparing for the rapture is at the root of tensions in the Middle East and plays a part in U.S. politics.

Some of the concepts:
Most Bible scholars and theologians agree that someone identifying himself as John wrote the "Revealing" 60-80 years after Jesus's death. They are unsure that it was the apostle John The Baptist because he would have been nearly 100 years old and the Greek writing style was different. Under great stress after being exiled to a small island by the Romans it is believed he invisioned Jesus coming back in his lifetime to enact vengeance on the Roman persecuters. To avoid being executed as a heretic John coded his written attacks against Rome. For example, the sign of the beast, 666, translates to the emperor Nero in Hebrew numerology.

The Rapture event (ascention of the believers preceding the Apocolypse) was not even written by John, but was later translated into the story 1800 years later based on an interpretation of earlier passages in the Bible and the vision of some woman.

Hi, -V-. I have a 1999 25 inch television set that has a built-in VCR, but in 1992 I permanently unplugged from television, so, though it sounds interesting, it is unlikely I will see that show about John and Revelation. As a point of interest, in my studies about UFOs and aliens, I came across an abductee report that the large interstellar UFOs are capable of carrying 144,000 people, the number mentioned in Revelation who would assend into the heavens. If that is true, there could be many of them present in the event of alien wars here each cacapable of carrying 144,000 people. Could at least one reason for the alien implants be a tracking device to identify people who would be picked up? There is no doubt things are getting hot here and that the illuminatii one world government people are scrambling, arragantly pulling out all the stops in democracies worldwide. One has got to at least ask the question, Why now in particular?

then you also missed National Geographic's study of the Free Masons and the Pyramids after that. And the Discovery Channel had a 2 hour special on Global Warming.

Sure only about 5 of the 155 channels I get via satellite are worth anything but there's an even higher percentage of crap on the Internet. It's all about being selective and using it rather than it using you. However, if I had kids the TV would be connected to a video library rather than cable or satellite.

Hi, -V-. I didn't know you could get connected to any video library. Really? How do you do that? What is available? As it is, I've aways enjoyed reading books. I have a great one, only about 80 pages, that's all about the technical and base 6 mathematical relationships of the Great Pyramid to the Earth's mass, diameter, fibinachi sequence location, orientation to the stars, calandrical measurements using the pyamid inch, etc. Just recently I bought a lovely book that is all about the ancient Greeks; their schools, laws, philosphy, governance, economy, society, the locations of Greek cities, etc., complete with color plate artist renderings. I rather read and write anyway than watch television. I remember flipping through channels over and over, 10 minutes here and 5 minutes there. It was after one of those times I had my cable tv disconnected. I never went back. Since then, I've spent the money I would have spent on cable tv on books and VCR tapes. I've been very satisfied doing it that way, and I no longer have that flipping through the channels aggravation I used to have. YEAH!

What is available, aside from a dvd's, is to start a collection on hard disc (a media center or any computer with enough disc space). There is a service now that allows you to download unlimited movies for a monthly fee, http://www.vongo.com but I have not tried it.

I have my own idea about spirituality, that number, 666 (hell) and the 'mark' of beast that I put together, in part, by my reading of Zecharia Sitchin's books and my thought about that genetic "matrics" that David Icke talks about in his books. It goes like this:

1) 6+6+6 is the number of electrons, protons and neutrons in a carbon atom.

2) Human bodies are carbon based physical units that aliens call 'containers' and that certain alien types genetically created specifically to house or warehouse or enslave human souls.

3) Souls or spirit bodies are contained and held within the carbon based 'containers' by means of the electromagnetic fields (auric fields) that are guided and held in place by means of the genetic matrics.

4) The entrapment of souls in carbon based bodies is spirtual separation.

5) That spiritual separation is deeply felt by people and is the reason for people's spiitual research for unification with God.

6) Spiritual separation is the hell talked about in the Christian Bible and the reason, in contrast, that Christ emphasized spirtual oneness and unity as he did saying, "I and the Father in heaven are one. I do nothing except through the will of the Father who sent me."

According to the Summarian texts that were translated by Zechariah Sitchin the Annanaki referential meaning of "mark" is a genetic reference. For years now I've thought of that in relationship to that reference in Revelation, "the mark of the beast." Is the meaning that human beings (homo sapiens) were genetically modified from a root "primitive hominid (animal) species" (the beast), the "mark of the beast" being the genetics of the beast (animal) or is it that "elohim" aliens had created a new, purified species that was corrupted by the genetics of some other unintended alien species (the genetic "mark of the beast") by way of sexual relations as described in Genesis Chapter 6 of the Christian Bible? I think it's an interesting question.

The prophet speaks over a long period of time of "God's" condemnation of those who are idolators inclusive of peoples who worship idols and material things in Israel as well as those inhabiting surrounding nations. Ezekiel prophecizes the coming of King David (Ezekiel 34: 23, 24) appointed by "God" to gather the people of Israel together to again turn to "God," turn away from idolatry, and to war against and utterly destroy other "heathen" nations of the region at that time that included Turkey, Ethiopia, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Lybia, etc. Ezekiel is saying the people of Israel are sinning against "God" by their worship of other gods and material things as are the nations round about. Ezekiel, speaking for "God" is giving the politically and economically advantaged in Israel favored information by "God's" will and at "God's" direction that Israel may yet be saved if they turn away from their (unfaithful as whores, abomination) idolatry, but that those other nations, at that time, were totally lost to "God" and that "God," therefore, marked them for destruction the same as Israel itself would face if the people of Israel didn't change their ways and come together as one to be "God's" people and nation. The evidence is overwhelming that aliens exist. It appears from the historical record that at least one "God" alien took some major interest in our planet Earth and human beings who live here, favoring that group of wandering, nomadic Israelites who always seemed to be looking for a place where they might make a permanent desert home. Human uncertainty and adversity always has brought people closer to some form of spirituality for assistance in living life. In those days, Israelites in their situation would have been open and ripe for alien contact and the "Godly" guidance that was offered. Aliens are still here on Earth today, and actively involve themselves with human beings. I entertain the idea that what at least one alien "God" wanted during Biblical times, namely, to be worshiped and followed, "God" still wants, and that threats of anihilation said to some of today's chosen political and economic elite by means of national manipulation such as that threatened use of the King of Babylon to destroy Israel and neighboring nations during Ezekiel's time for doing otherwise, continues to exist. So, Robertson may not be so wrong after all. The middle east is where it all was focused and happened before in Biblical times. The middle east is where it is a hotbed of turmoil and trouble today. Idolatry as "God" defined it in Biblical times is worse today than it was then. So considering aliens are here, and if they still hold today to utter destruction for those who are "idolatrous," refusing to worship them and do as they say, hold on to your hat cause I think we're in for some BIG trouble.

Let's be carefull Jennifer. There wasn't a Christian "Bible" until the Council of Nicea in 340 AD collected all the various texts into a doctrine, and from what I have read of the old testament, the belief in a savior was a pretty common thing, considering the uncertain existance the Jews were in, what with all the empires and hostile tribes around them. In practical terms, what better situation from a Rabbi's standpoint, then to say that "our" GOD gives us the right to slaughter, enslave, and conquer.

Hi, FDRFollower. I think the Christian Bible is a pretty good history book though it is certainly true many things were left out and other things changed or omitted. I would not claim that what is there in the Christian Bible is all false and unreliable though. I talk about the Christian Bible most because that is the book most people here are familiar with and have a copy of. There are the Summarian texts, the religious texts of India, the Egyptian texts, the Mayan texts and there are "folkloric" writings that prove out when compared with physical site evidence. Summarians talked about a massive spaceport at Baalbeck and in all ancient religious texts descriptions of other worldly beings are described, there are drawings of other worldly space craft and beings, and compared with events during our time, they confirm much of what the ancients talk about. There is physical evidence of wars between the gods here on Earth. I am intrigued by the evidence at Babylon for an ancient nuclear weapons explosion there and the description in the Christian Bible about a drifting cloud of death and the desolation of the land it left behind.
