Here's an idea for 2 ads. Either of which, I believe, would put the McCain campaign out of their misery in the final week:

AD 1

More than ever, America needs steady leadership.

But John McCain has been erratic.

He said last year: "I voted with Bush 90% of the time"
Last week: "I am not George Bush"
This week, that he and Bush "share a common philosophy".

Last month, "the fundamentals of the economy are strong"
and a week later "we are in a crisis" and he suspended his campaign

Then, he flipped back and forth on the bailout of AIG and Wallstreet.

And he promised he would pick a VP who could step in as President "on day one" if neccessary but a few days later he gambled on a risky VP who the majority of Americans now see as unqualified, and has inspired a wave of infighting in his campaign including, this week:

One McCain adviser calling her "a diva" who "takes no advice" and "does not have any relationships of trust"

And another McCain top advisor labeled "a whack job".

John McCain's campaign is unraveling. America needs a steady hand. Vote Obama/Biden.

Regarding an issue during the Primary campaign in South Carolina in 2000 McCain said:

"it could come down to lying or losing. I chose lying."

and

"I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. I was 62 years old...and I thought it was my one shot at the prize."
